I am a single mom of two VERY active kids. I have a demanding management position at a company in the area. I like to volunteer at the kids school to help with fund raisers and such. I have lived all over the U.S. so I have come to appreciate all of the cuisines from all of the areas of the U.S.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make desserts, meats, and pasta dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
On Thanksgiving my family always invites a friend or two who have no family in the area for dinner. This reminds us of all that we are thankful for.
My cooking triumphs
I catered my grandmothers wedding when I was 15. I made food for 65 people. Most of the guests thought that she had a professional caterer do her wedding and could not believe that I had done it, LOL! The food turned out great and we had a blast...and no leftovers, yay!
My cooking tragedies
I have had many tragedies, being as I don't use a lot of recipes, but my worst was when I was trying to make a Mexican dish which consisted of layers of chili, corn, olives, and cheese topped with cornbread mix. I must have baked that thing forever (at least 2 hours), but no matter what I did the cornbread would not cook. Needless to say we ate fast food that night.
