I recently edited (and typeset) an entire cookbook for my church. Of course, the members contributed the recipes, but still, it was a big undertaking requiring a lot of rewriting and a certain amount of diplomacy. Baked goods, from quiche to bread and cheesecake and beyond -- they all seem like magic to me and can be so delicate. Sweets, desserts of every kind. A groom's cake at a friend's wedding. It was so much more delicious looking than the bride's cake that everyone lined up to eat my cake. Too many (and too embarrassing) to tell. But that's how you learn!
