About this Cook
I've been married just over a year and just had my first baby. I'm still struggling a little to cook AND keep the house clean AND care for the sweetest baby on earth, but I'm learning!
My favorite things to cook
Chocolate chip cookies. My little sister worked in a bakery and learned how to make all kinds of fancy desserts, but the classic chocolate chip cookie is still my favorite. I like to believe I've mastered the recipe.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas my family gets together and makes goodies for a week straight! Then we make up goodie plates and take them to our friends and neighbors. Also, I have six sisters and at all family gatherings we spend time all together in the kitchen helping to prepare meals while we talk and laugh.
My cooking triumphs
Gradually building up our dinner menu to include more than 3 things! My poor husband was eating the same thing every week. Thanks to allrecipes.com, that's begun to change.
My cooking tragedies
I tried to make a roux to thicken a beautiful beef stew. The only roux recipe I had was for a butter roux (I didn't know their was any other kind at that point). It turned out tasting like butter stew. Even my husband, who has eaten just about everything else I've made, wouldn't eat any leftovers.

Caramel Apple Dip
This was a delicious dip! And pretty easy, too. My husband and I both enjoyed it.

Cinnamon Rolls II
These were really good. A lot of times cinnamon rolls aren't that sweet and just taste like white bread with frosting, but these were good even without frosting. I did use brown sugar instead of white for the cinnamon mixture and it turned out delicious.

Absolutely the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
This recipe works a lot better when you whip the cream mixture with an electric mixer. I tried it once by hand and couldn't understand why this recipe was "absolutely the best" but when I used my mixer, they turned out really tasty.
