Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken

Absolutely delicious! I used boneless, skinless chicken thighs, doubled the cilantro (because I am a cilantro freak), stir-fried some peppers and onions and served them with the shredded chicken as filling for soft tacos. Excellent! A definite keeper.

Mushroom Turnovers

This is my Holiday staple for parties ever since I found it in a Philly Cream Cheese cookbook! Not a year goes by that I don't make these. In recent years, I have changed one thing about the recipe - instead of making them as turnovers, I actually make them as mini tarts.

Neat Sloppy Joes

This was incredibly good! Very easy to make and very tasty. I didn't use the celery as I can't stand celery ... noxious weed that it is; so I subbed green pepper in its place. The only other change I would make to it would be to add an extra tablespoon of vinegar to give it a little more edge. This is a definite keeper!!!

Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken

This dish was delicious. The chicken was tender, the flavour amazing. My only reservation was the amount of oil used. If I make this again, I will use just enough oil to brown the chicken on both sides, then finish them off in the oven.

Orzo with Parmesan and Basil

Soft Sandwich Buns

This is my first sandwich bun recipe so I really have nothing to compare it to other than other basic "roll" recipes - this recipe was good, but not as great as the reviews led me to believe. I will definitely try a couple of other recipes on the site to see how they all compare.

Cheeseburger Soup I

Amazingly good! Almost addictive! I forgot to add the sour cream and the soup was still great! I did add one minced garlic clove - I can't make anything savoury without some garlic. It was great! Very easy to make, very filling and flavourful.

Pistachio White Chocolate Chip Cookies

A great cookie, all around! I wasn't too sure about the whole wheat, but it really went well with all the other flavours and textures. The only thing about these cookies - they need to be watched at the very end as they will overbrown in a split second.

Babe Ruth Bars

These bars were super easy to put together and really quite tasty. Unfortunately my chocolate chips melted when everything was stirred together so it looked more like a chocolate bar. My only real issue was the chewiness of the bar. I realize that's because of the corn flakes, but it may still prevent me from making them again.

No Bake Cookies III

Amazing! Chocolaty, peanut buttery goodness! Perfect for the middle of July when you don't want to heat the house up baking cookies. Love this recipe. I did make a small change - I used 1- 1/4 cups of white sugar and 3/4 cup of brown sugar. I just love the flavour and texture that brown sugar gives to sweets. It was so great! Thanks for the recipe; a definite keeper.

I actually found this recipe quite bland. I had to add a few ingredients to salvage it. I added 1 shallot, sliced into rings; 1/2 small red onion, sliced; 2 garlic cloves, minced; 1/2 tsp pot herbs. Also, the provolone cheese was very overwhelming. I would heartily recommend a milder cheese, such as mozzarella.

Loved this recipe! I made it exactly as the recipe specified and served it with Turkey Kielbasa. The only change I would make would ne to eliminate the butter. It's just not neccessary. There's enough fat from the soup, half&half, and cheese. A definite keeper!

Chicken Jalfrezi

I was really looking forward to this. And I was really disappointed with it. First, it was waaaayyy too salty. 1 tsp of salt is more than enough. Maybe even 3/4 tsp would work. Second, I didn't really like the combo of flavours. Left a lot to be desired. On the positive side, it was super easy to make and the chicken was very tender.

Peanut Noodles

The sauce was pretty good. I wasn't enthusiastic about the noodle consistency. Generally I use a rice noodle or some kind of asian noodle for peanut noodles. I didn't like the texture of the spaghetti for peanut noodles. That is definitely something I would change.

Italian Dressing Mix

VERY good! When I mixed the herbs with the vinegar and oil, I used white balsamic, so it made the dressing quite sweet. I will try it with regular vinegar next time just to see what kind of results I get.
