About this Cook
My cooking tragedies
Not too long ago, I volunteered to bake five dozen cookies for a bake sale. The club was supposed to sell the cookies to raise money for tsunami victims, I think... So I decided to go with a cookie recipe I had tried before at least three times, all triumphs, a recipe for peanut butter cookies. I tried one batch first, just to test it out... and for some reason the cookies turned out salty. I couldn't figure it out! I rechecked the recipe, and nowhere did it mention adding sugar... but then it had turned out so well before! So I went ahead and baked five dozen of the cookies... and realized they were STILL salty. By then I didn't have any time to start all over, so I had to bring the five dozen salty cookies to school. Needless to say, it's probably doubtful that the club raised much money that day.

Authentic Kicked-Up Syrian Hummus
Fantastic. Everyone that tried it asked me for the recipe!

Banana Bread VI
only mediocre, sadly. Especially in comparison to the other banana nut breads out there. Added a teaspoon of vanilla, separated it into two 9 inch cake pans, baked for about 20 or 25 minutes. It was cooked through, but the texture was quite spongy (my main gripe), and the outside looked uncooked. Flavorwise, a little bland. I would sub in some brown sugar, maybe, to spice it up.

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread
quite as easy as the recipe suggests! resulted in a biscuity, deliciously flaky bread
