Panera's Cream Cheese Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2012
Very good potato soup. I used lower fat cream cheese and still very good. I'd make this again. Cheap and delicious. I did add some green onion snips and some bacon pieces when serving. Very good :)

Eileen's Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2012
Excellent flavor and texture. I was so hungry for a good meatloaf and saw a positive review for this one. I used 2 lbs of very lean ground beef and still only 1/2 a packet of the onion soup mix. Otherwise, upped the other ingredients as written. I can't believe there was not any salt or pepper but it's still full of flavor. The sour cream is not noticeable but gives it the perfect texture for slicing thin for sandwiches, which is our favored way of eating meatloaf. I baked the 2 lbs for 45 minutes covered, uncovered for 15 minutes and then topped with some squirts of ketchup for another 15 minutes. Perfectly done and very delicious. Thanks so much for posting your recipe!

Sweetheart Cherry Cheese Danish

I loved this easy, tasty dessert. The combo of the butter, sugar and almonds on top made a very nice topping. I'd make this again for sure!

S.O.P.P.

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
Great technique to get tender potatoes with so much flavor. I think I liked it best the next morning spooned into a flour tortilla with a scrambled egg on top with shredded cheddar cheese. Now THAT was delicious. I'd make this ahead and just heat some up for breakfast during the week. It's that good.

Ham Slice with Pineapple-Orange Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
This was just ok. The ham steak seemed to get tougher and the sauce was very liquidy so that all just stayed in the dish. I won't be making this again.

Candy Bar Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
This is extremely sweet but the taste is great. I think next time I'll cut the sugar down a bit. I used the toffee chips from Hershey's and used about 4 oz out of the bag. It puffs up on the sides and kinda sinks in the middle. All in all, I'd make it again with a bit less sugar.

French Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
This was a very easy, right out of the pantry recipe. I did use my bread machine for the dough cycle and it turned out perfect. I halved the recipe and had one large loaf of french bread. I did put a small sheet pan with about 5 pieces of ice in when I put the loaf in the oven. I think putting the ice in made a very hearty crust.. and it's a dense loaf, not soft like the big ol' Walmart french bread. This is the kind you get at an artisan bakery or in a top end restaurant. Thanks for the great, simple recipe.

Carrabba's® Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
Excellent Chicken Marsala. I did use about 1/3 of the butter called for and still made a wonderful sauce over some angel hair pasta. This is my go to recipe now :) Thanks Carraba's for the great recipe.

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
Very yummy. They are extreemly sweet so cut them small. My picky hubby really liked them so it's a keeper. Also, this makes a LOT of peanut butter squares.. next time I'll probably cut it in 1/2.

Fried Pickles

Excellent recipe. I think the buttermilk dunk/soak is perfect to make the cornmeal/flour stay on well while frying. We really enjoyed these, as good as any restaurant here in the south!

Creamy Broccoli Cheddar Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
I just made this and it's just so creamy and delicious. I had about 3/4 cup of the insides of baked potatoes and added that in with the broth and 1/2 & 1/2. Otherwise, I cut the recipe in half and it was very tasty. I'd make it again for sure.

Baked Potato Skins

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2012
Let me add my 5 star review to this great recipe. Watching the playoff game and needed some skins.. and this was it!! I did use butter to lather the inside & outside of the scooped out potatoes. I then just salted & peppered the inside and baked according to the directions. Made perfect skins, crunchy, smooth, hot, yummy! I think the sour cream and green onions make them.

Egg Nog Coffee Cake

Pretty tasty but makes a huge 9x13 cake, not like a Coffee Cake. Very light and fluffy. The taste was delicious but it wasn't dense enough.

Benihana style Fried Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
Wowzer, this is some good stuff. I actually added some yellow squash that needed to be used up, some chopped up ham that I had frozen and 1 chicken breast pounded thin and sauted. I didn't have fresh ginger so just sprinkled a bit of ground dry ginger. I loved the addition of the sesame seeds and I used some toasted ones with just a very light sprinkle of sesame oil over the finished dish and stirred it in. This is now my go-to fried rice dinner. YUMMO!

Crab Canapes

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2011
I made these with a few changes. I used crescent sheet roll. Rolled it out and cut into about 2 inch squares. I mixed the 8oz krab package into the mayo, salt, 1/2 cup swiss cheese, 1/2 cup montery jack and no curry but put a little bit of dill weed. YUMMMOOOO... a hit with my fussy DH :)

Apple Turnovers

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
Tasty and fairly easy to make. I feel that the cost is a little too much for these. $2 for 4 turnovers for just the puff pastry. 2 apples $1.45. Ummm.. the sugar and other ingredients. I think you can buy frozen turnovers with the same results for a bit cheaper.

Creamy Chicken on Linguine

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
Very nice sauce with ingredients on hand. I cut the recipe in 1/2 and it made plenty for us with some left overs too. I followed the recipe exactly except using a Swanson Flavor Boost packet of chicken flavor. I used angel hair pasta (what I had) and it was a restaurant quality meal. And easy to boot!!

Orange Pineapple Marmalade

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2011
This was excellent! I used some tangerines that needed to be used up and followed the rest of the recipe exactly. I used 4 medium tangerines, zested them and then peeled and chopped in the food processor. I, too, cooked it on top of the stove just until it seem thick enough. It made 2 full pint jars with about 1/2 a pint left over. Great on wheat toast and english muffins. It's sweet, but that's what jam is supposed to be! I loved the flavor of the tangerine zest.. it was more than called for put it was perfect in this recipe.

Backwards Prime Rib

This worked perfect for my Rib Roast. Not a prime one but it was just very good. The seasoning on the outside was so good. I baked it a little too long so if there is a next time I will not bake it so long. Thank you Ken, perfect way to make a great roast!
