Love to cook, Couldn't cook until My mom, sister & I bought a Pizza Restaurant back in the 80's. Love it. Our crust, sauce and sausage was homemade, with fresh grated cheeses. We also offered Sub-Sandwiches, hamburgers, cheese nuggets and chicken and shrimp dinners. It was a lot of work. 80 hours a week, each of us. Sold it in 1990.
My favorite things to cook
Homemade Pizza, Mexican, Chinese and baked goods. Homemade Breads.
My favorite family cooking traditions
New tradition is Deep Fried Turkey for Thanksgiving. Also, Slow Broasted
Prime Rib. Homemade Rolls, Homemade Cheesecake (sister). Gramma Brown's
baked beans.
My cooking triumphs
Sour Dough Bread, (think my oven took a toll over this triumph) doesn't work all the time, shuts off periodically.
My cooking tragedies
Can't think of any, but sure I have had them,
OH wait. I have this wonderful
recipe I found on the internet for Mike's Semal Rolls. You make them with
Brewers Yeast. Had some friends over, so I made the rolls bragging about them the whole time, along with friends bragging. Well, I let them raise too much and couldn't remove the damp towels, so they went flat, so I baked them anyway and they came out as hard as hockey pucks. Funny thing was, that one of my friends is a huge hockey fan and loved um anyway!
