About this Cook
I'm a writer and all-around creative person. Cooking is a great way to be creative in a much more lowkey, stress-free way.
My favorite things to cook
Vegetarian and vegan food and desserts, especially cheesecake or anything with chocolate. I especially love whimsical, "Hmm, I've never thought of that before" recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making cookies together. Deciding what non-turkey item to have for holidays, since we're all vegetarians.
My cooking triumphs
My first cheesecake. Maintaining a Sunday dinner party night with friends, where I make the entire meal. Making a birthday cake for my friend at work when he wasn't expecting it. Creating my husband's Dr. Seuss birthday cake for his birthday.
My cooking tragedies
Risotto. I still won't go near trying it again. I'm too much of a beginner.

Grilled Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich
Very very rich and different and very yummy. Be warned, mine was burning after 1 minute on each side, rather than the 2 minutes they estimated here, so be sure to check it periodically.

Chocolate-Covered Cherry Cookies
Ridiculously addictive! Fun to put together and quicker than I expected. Very rich, probably best served with a lighter dinner than I tried.

Sweet and Nutty Moroccan Couscous
So easy and yummy. This makes a lot though, so be sure you're making it for a side dish for at least four people. I'll make this again for sure. And maybe even with more fruit next time.
