About this Cook
I am 42 years old. I have six (6) beautiful children. I am a substitute teacher at an elementary school. I love to cook and bake and try new recipes. I cook everyday for my kids. It's clockwork duty for me and I really enjoy cooking for them, as well as for family and friends.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook Italian dishes from scratch rather than ready-made. I love to prepare dishes of all kinds that my mother taught me. She is a great cook and I learned alot from her. I also like to cook other dishes that are part asian cooking and part chamorro cooking which, Chamorro is my heritage. Great dishes you should try. People who come to our Island, really love are dishes! Also, desserts is my specialty. From pecan tarts, fruit pizza, sandies, mud pies, better then sex cake, cheesecake, to creme brulees.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Is at Thanksgiving. Each year we get together and assign or volunteer who bakes the turkey, ham, desserts and so on...we prepare dishes that we don't normally cook all year round, which is an exciting time for our family because of the scrumptious dishes everyone gets to try during the holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
Baking my first turkey for Thanksgiving when I was 18. It turned out very delicious and moist.
My cooking tragedies
One day in the early 1980's I made two large tupperware bowls of potato salad for a party and when I got to the party, we set the table with the potato salad and when we opened it up it was already spoiled. Don't know how that happened or why. Thank God, it hasn't happened since then.
