About this Cook
I am a mother of four, grandmother of three! My life is centered around my family and my Lord! I believe that cooking can bring a family together! Nothing is better than a great family meal and game night! I like exclamation marks! :-}
My favorite things to cook
My families favorites are my enchiladas, roast, pork loin, nachos,stuffed pistolettes, gumbo, and gooey cake. My favorite is a fresh coconut pie!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love that now my grown children have all learned my recipes and invite me over to try their versions of our favorite family meals. Cooking and sharing has been a real bond between us!
My cooking triumphs
Anytime I have the pleasure of my beautiful family sitting around enjoying a meal I cooked them, laughing and sharing their lives with one another, I take it as a personal triumph!!
My cooking tragedies
I've had many cooking tragedies, all while I was pregnant! It seems me + pregnancy + cooking don't mix well. Since I can no longer have children, I am now quite safe! Lol!

Crawfish Dip
I made this recipe, but with a new twist. I added twice the Velveeta, half a pound more crawfish,cut the crawfish into thirds so that it went further, and then stuffed it into hollowed out pistolettes. I then slathered the pistolettes with butter and baked at 350 until lightly browned. Absolutely fabulous!! This can be served as a appetizer, side bread, or even a main dish! Definitely a crowd pleaser!

Crawfish Fettuccine I
I gave this recipe to my daughter (a new cook) to try for a family dinner. It turned out great!! Not to hot at all, but then we are Louisianians and used to a little spice!! In fact, she added quite a bit of Tony Chacheres'(a local seasoning)! It was very easy for her to prepare and praised by everybody, which made her day!!

Luscious Slush Punch
I made this punch for my Daughter's Spanish Fiesta at school. The children loved it so much that they bypassed soft drinks for the punch! The adults loved it as well! My only substitutions were 2 cups sugar instead of 2 1/2 and I used pineapple-orange juice in place of the pineapple and orange juice. I used 2 large cans and this worked out really well. The Teacher (from Mexico) said it tasted like authentic Mexican fruit punch. Great recipe!! Just remember to make base the night before or it won't freeze sufficiently.
