About this Cook
I love to cook for other people. I have a husband who gets to try all my experiments, and a 2-year old son who will eventually. I am the person who always has to bring a dish to the party.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook special meals. I am perfecting my Thanksgiving meal, and my Christmas Eve dinner. I love having company over to try new things. I love to Barbecue, and my favorite thing to make are appetizers. I just love fun little bits of deliciousness on a plate. I am now learning to bake desserts, and am hoping to try breads next.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I always make Turkey for thanksgiving with the Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing from this site. For Christmas I make a shrimp bisque soup that is absolutely delicious, and is requested by everyone. Now that I am a mom I plan on starting the tradition of making cookies and sweets for Christmas also.
My cooking triumphs
My homemade salsa. My husband says it's the best thing I make. A close second would be my Chicken Enchilada Dip that I make with the filling from Whit's Chicken Enchilada's from this site. I also make great mashed potatoes! : )
My cooking tragedies
Too many to count!!! I love to experiment, and things don't always turn out as planned! My funniest moment though would have to be Thanksgiving several years ago when I didn't realize there were 2 bags of innards in my turkey. I took out the bag from the cavity, but forgot and left the one in the neck. Quite the surprise when my husband went to carve it!

Beer Margaritas
This is my favorite margarita recipe! I usually use Corona or Corona Light, and add fresh lime juice to mine. And to cut the sweetness, I add orange juice instead of water. These have become VERY popular in my neighborhood! I can't wait to use the Bud Light Lime as someone suggested. Yum!

Peppermint Cereal Squares
These are a cute way to dress Rice Krispy treats up for the holidays. I use red and green peppermints and finely crush them and sprinkle it on top. Festive and delicious!

BLT Dip
Very good dip that does taste like a BLT! I added some sliced green onion and a bit of ms. dash. I had a friend serve this dip on top of tomato slices, and that was delicious. I think I will try it warm with the added cream cheese. This is a very versatile recipe!
