About this Cook
Stay at home mom with a flair for creativity. I'm blessed with the most wonderful and handsome husband and 3 beautiful boys in the world! I'm happy doing nothing else but being with them.
My favorite things to cook
I love experimenting! There are never enough delicious good-for-you recipes available so I enjoy making up my own. I change just about every recipe I run into to make it more healthy. It's fun to watch my kids fall in love with healthy food. Plus, when you eat a healthy meal you have calories open for dessert, which is my favorite thing to cook ... and eat! Stir-fry is a family favorite because it's fast, easy and you can put whatever you have on hand in it. Same with soup!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Gigantic Christmas breakfasts, ornate birthday cakes.
My cooking triumphs
Learning the art of stacked cakes.
My cooking tragedies
Yeast bread..... why can't I get it right???

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread
Sweet, moist and decadent. A real treat that compliments a bowl of spicy chili wonderfully.

Strawberry Coffee Cake
WOW, this is excellent! Made it for Bible study and people ate it until it was gone. There was a trained chef in the group who said it was 'professional quality!" Small changes: I doubled it and put it in a 9x13, used half brown sugar in the topping, and used walnuts instead of pecans.
