About this Cook
I love to cook and bake meals for my family, which is my husband and brand new baby boy. Okay so the baby's meals consist only of formula at the moment but I know that I will love cooking for him when he's a little older. I am currently a college student majoring in secondary education and I work with special needs kids at a school in my area, it is the best job in the world! I like to try different types of food and experimenting since I get bored eating too many repeat meals. Thankfully my husband is not picky and will eat almost anything that I put in front of him. I really enjoy cooking and baking but I absolutely hate cleaning up the messes that I make!
My favorite things to cook
I love Mexican, Italian, and making homemade soups the best. Anything with a lot of flavor and spice is good. I like baking cookies and desserts because it relaxes me and puts me in a good mood when I smell something baking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom and I make Christmas cookies every year together, even after I moved out of my parents house and went to college I always go over to their house to make cookies. Other than that we don't really have very many traditions.
My cooking triumphs
Anytime that I make a meal that people enjoy is a triumph for me.
My cooking tragedies
I can not fry chicken to save my life, it always turns out dry and a little too crispy (meaning slightly burned). I also can not make a good pie crust which is a shame since pie is one of my favorite desserts, but I keep trying.

Classic Thanksgiving Dressing With Parsley, Sage and Thyme
We made this stuffing for our Christmas dinner yesterday, and we loved it! Neither my husband or I usually like stuffing so we were surised we liked it this much. We did exchange the celery for apples and added Italian sausage to go along with our meal a little more. One thing that we really liked about it was that it wasn't really moist, we tend to not like soggy stuffings very much so this was great! Thanks for this delicious recipe!

Pie Crust IV
I made this crust with "Grandna Opal's Apple Pie" from this site, and it turned out great! I got many compliments on the crust so I think this will be the crust that I use from here on out. I do want to try it as the crust for a pot pie and see how that works. Thanks for such a good recipe!

Savory Slow Cooker Squash and Apple Dish
I was skeptical about serving this dish for part of our Christmas dinner since I had never made it before, but I was pleasantly surprised. In fact, it turned out to be my favorite part of the meal. The only thing that I did differently was I only cooked it on high for about three hours, and then turned it down to low until we were ready to eat. I think if I had left it on high the whole time the squash would have been too mushy. Thanks for posting a wonderful recipe!
