I come from Malaysia, I seldom cook Western food, mostly I cook Chinese Malay and Thai. I enjoy cooking, but I found cooking Western sometimes a bit different. I sucks in cooking Western cuisine, now I'm taking Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism course, we have cooking lessons in college. Since then, I pay more attention to Western cuisine. Most of the Western food recipes are taught by our lecturer in college..
My favorite things to cook
Tom Yam soup, fried ginger with wild boar, japanese tofu with mince meat, stie-fry mixed vege with sea cucumber, porridge...
My favorite family cooking traditions
We use a lot of things which I don't know what they call in English, in overseas, you can only get it from Asian Food Store. We never use thymes, rosemary or bay leaf(which I learned all these names from college), we use Asian herbs instead..
My cooking triumphs
My first time cooking Western cuisine, is fried Seabass with lemon butter sauce, it goes well(I'm glad)... Lecturer even praise me, most of the student get scolded because their fish is burned. I'm really excited!!!
My cooking tragedies
So, far... not yet but I think my practical cookery final exam will be in chaos... I still don't know what appetizer I sould serve. Exam is only next month. Wish me luck!!
