I have an amazing husband and a wonderful little boy named Solomon. He was born on March 9, 2008 in my own home - an AMAZING experience! I am extremely interested in health, and one of my favorite books is the Maker's Diet. I think EVERYONE should read this book!
I work for a company called Saladmaster and do healthy cooking shows in people's homes. I teach people how to prepare great-tasting, healthy food in half the time. It's a lot of fun. I only do this a few times a week, so I'm usually home with my son. I also teach piano and voice lessons in my home. AND... I LOVE life! :o)
My favorite things to cook
Anything healthy. I love experimenting and just throwing a bunch of things together. I am constantly in search of truly healthy recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Hmmm... Unfortunately my family doesn't have any traditions. I'm looking forward to starting my own, though!
My cooking triumphs
Well, I love cooking for my in-laws. My mother-in-law is an AMAZING cook, so when she likes my food, that's when I feel the best about myself.
My cooking tragedies
The only thing I can think of was pretty bad... I was threw my husband a party for his 21st birthday. We had only been married for a month. He requested pizza of course, but he wanted frozen pizza instead of ordering it from a pizza place... Easy enough, right? In the middle of the party (with over 40 people in the house) as I was trying to get a pizza from the oven, I ended up pushing it off the back end of the rack onto the burner. It messed up that pizza and filled our house with smoke. It was pretty embarrassing because I didn't know anyone very well, and I didn't want them to think I didn't know how to cook because in actuality I LOVE cooking and am pretty good at it! I just grinned and beared it though. He still talks about how amazing it was that I threw that party for him and never mentions the pizza incident!
