This pie is fantastic. Light and sweet and just the right amount of lemon. Everyone I fed this to absolutely loved it. Be careful about browning the top, and mine didn't need to cook for the whole 50 minutes.

Absolutely amazing! My roommates think they're so decadent. I couldn't find dessicated coconut, so I grated a block of creamed coconut, and it worked wonderfully--the taste of coconut without the weird texture. To not crack the top layer of chocolate, dip your knife in hot water, wipe off, and be careful when cutting!

This is a great recipe--I made it for my roommates and the entire thing was gone within a day. Like others, I coated the cut apples in flour, which made a wonderful consistency. I also used a shortbread crust--just made shortbread dough, pressed it into a 9x13 pan, and cooked for 15 minutes or so. Then added the apples and sugar and then the topping. It made a huge pan, and I got so many rave reviews.
