Chicken and Broccoli Braid

This recipe was pretty good. I used onion flakes instead of onion, and green peppers. I used frozen broccoli thawed in the microwave and it worked well. I also halved the recipe for just my husband and I, and it made plenty. I will make this again, but without the almonds. I am an almond lover but I thought it just had too many textures going on.

Onion, Garlic, Cheese Bread

This bread was good, my husband loved it. I used half onion powder ad have garlic powder, added a little fresh garlic and used less onion flakes. I also sprinkled cheese on the top while it was baking. I have a 2 pound bread machine and it came out the perfect size. So it made more than the 1 1/2 loaf it was supposed to. Any bigger and it would have overflowed.

Delicious Black Bean Burritos

Very Yummy. My husband was very skeptical when he saw it, but I even got the thumbs up from him. I didn't have any jalapeno peppers on hand, so I used some diced green chiles instead. Will be making again.

Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken

I loved the taste of this chicken. As suggested by another reviewer, I soaked it in buttermilk for a few hours. I baked this after browning it on both sides in the pan. I had problems with the breading not sticking to the chicken. Next time I will try dipping in dry ingredients, then wet, and then dry again.

I didn't have lemon pepper or garlic pepper on hand, so I used lemon juice, garlic powder and a little pepper instead. It turned out wonderful! I will definitely be making again!

Pizza Casserole

Iowa Maid-Rites

This is okay, but not the recipe for maid-rites. Cook 1 1/2# ground beef with 1 small onion chopped fine. Drain fat and then add seasoned salt, 1 chicken bouillon cube and about 1/4 cup water. Cook for at least 30 minutes over low heat, adding more water if needed. Then turn heat up the last few minutes to evaporate extra liquid. This will get you so much closer to the real thing!

Mac and Cheese II

I have been making this for awhile and with a few changes this is a keeper. I add mustard powder and onion powder in with the flour. Then I mix in 1/2 cup of sour cream to the cheese mixture right before putting it in the baking dish. I add bread crumbs to the top for some crunch. I also usually add chopped chicken to the mac and cheese for a complete meal.

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

This wasn't bad. Brought it to the families for the holidays and it was partially eaten. I personally think it had too much of a butter taste. If I make again I will try cutting out some of the butter and see if it's better.

Ranch Burgers

These burgers were very moist, juicy and flavorful! I left out the onion and replaced the crackers with some italian bread crumbs. These are best if made ahead and refrigerated for at least a few hours to let the flavors come together.

S'mores Apples

These were soo yummy. They were quite messy and hard to eat though. I cut the apples into wedges just before serving so that they were easier to eat. Well worth the trouble.
