This was my first ever attempt at homemade pie crust and it was fabulous!! I did tweak it a bit after reading other reviews...instead of using cold shortening, I just used cold sticks of butter. I also doubled the recipe using the measurements given by another reviewer. This allowed for a pie crust bottom as well as a lattice top. Fantastic and super easy!

Fantastic! Also, my first attempt at making an apple pie from scratch and it came out fabulously! I did tweak it by using half Granny Smith apples and half McIntosh apples. Also, I brushed the top with egg whites and sprinkled it with sugar. Oh...and I poured most of the syrup over the apples before putting on the lattice top. I poured the remainder after putting the top on. Yummy!
