Sweet and Sour Sauce I

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2002
I thought this had too much soy sauce but with a few modifications it was quite good. I used with the breaded chicken strips (recipe from this site).

Mom's Best Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2002
You would have to have 8 people with huge appetites for this to be 8 servings. This makes tons of really disgusting looking, bland mushroomy tasting downright gross sauce!

Strawberries and Cream Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2002
I baked the layers 30 minutes and they came out perfect. The cake was very moist and light tasting. I skipped the cream cheese icing and used more whipped cream. Beautiful and delicious.

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2002
I added extra garlic and a tsp of ginger and marinated for three hours. I think they needed longer time in the marinade for more flavor. Next time I will try overnight. They were delicious, and will make often this summer.

Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2002
I used 1/2 cup mayo and 1/2 cup sour cream, and the dressing was great. I didn't add the carrots but added fresh diced tomatoes before serving. Used lemon juice in place of pickle juice for a bit of tartness. Nice versatile recipe, Thanks!

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: May 30, 2002
I used 1/3 cup corn starch and 2 TBSP flour. If you start heating it over medium heat, start stirring constantly with a flat bottomed coil whisk as it gets hot, it will begin to boil sooner and you can then lower the heat. Stir constantly for one minute. Lots less cooking time and no sticking on bottom of pan whatsoever. Delicious with meringue topping.

Delicious Peanut Butter Cookies

These are very good peanut butter cookies--the same as on the Crisco sticks package. I used butter instead of shortening.

Soft and Chewy Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: May 29, 2002
The ingredients are way off on this recipe--3 eggs is too many for amount of flour, and the 1 1/4 each of white and brown sugar is really too much. Not a good recipe at all in my opinion. Not worth taking time to change it.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: May 28, 2002
I left out the two tablespoons of water and added a heaping tablespoon extra flour. The dough was not sticky at all and I rolled them into walnut sized balls and flattened them with a small glass dipped in sugar. They came out very nice--you just have to watch and not over bake. I ended up with 45 regular sized cookies. A caramel frosting makes them even better! Thanks for the great recipe.
