About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Homemade soups. Potato, chicken noodle, minestrone, french onion, I love them ALL!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother and my mom make fresh green beans during the holidays by simmering them overnight with ham hocks and fresh garlic. My brother and I would always sneak spoonfuls of them when Mom wasn't looking. They make the entire house smell amazing.
My cooking triumphs
The crab cakes. Mmmm...
My cooking tragedies
Since moving from sea-level to 5000 feet 3 years ago, I've had to forget everything I have ever known about baking.

Slow Cooker Creamy Potato Soup
This soup turned out wonderful with a couple of changes... Therefore, I'm only giving it 4 stars. Instead of the water/broth mix, I used all broth. Also, I substituted a can of cream of celery soup instead of the evaporated milk, since it's what I had. Gave it a little more creamy texture and flavor than I think it would have had otherwise. I see a lot of complaints about it being too thin... If that's the case, once it's done take a cup or two out and blend it in the blender. Pour it back into the soup and it will help thicken it up.

White Chocolate Fruit Tart
This fruit tart is by far the BEST on the planet. I have made several times, using different fruits depending on the season and what's available. I am now begged to make one for every pot-luck that comes along!

Chicken and Noodles
I did a couple of things differently... I used bowtie pasta and cooked in chicken broth to give it that extra chickeny flavor. I added about a tsp of garlic powder. Once I mixed it all up, I put it in a 350 degree oven for about 20 mins to really blend the flavors together. Great recipe and oh-so-easy to make!
