About this Cook
I have been married for 26 years to my wonderful husband Loren. We have seven children, three are grown and moved on there own. The other four are much younger and I'll be cooking for them for quite a few more years! We live in Coastal North Carolina and just LOVE it!
My favorite things to cook
I love trying new recipes that have unique ingredients. Veggies our are favorite. It is not uncommon for my three year old to snack on raw mushrooms or spinach. Inventing new salad combinations is my favorite thing to do.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We enjoy grilling a great deal. Our cooking tradition I guess would be that every birthday we get to plan our meal.
My cooking triumphs
Making meals for 100+ guests.
My cooking tragedies
Fixing pancakes for my dear husband. On a cold winter morning after a heavy snow, while living in PA. Loren called me from the barn and asked if I would please make him pancakes (he was feeding cows). I agreed half heartily and made him some from a mix that my mother had given me. (it was 2 years old, and I didn't look for the expiration date!) Boy, was he ever disappointed to discover flat, white, grainy looking pancakes. I never made them from a box again!!!!

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers
Yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had them for lunch today. My 7 year old didn't know they were beans until they were half gone. He was very surprised. Will certainly make again!
