About this Cook
Wife of Norwegian "sweet tooth"; mother of 2 adult kids and a teenager, I am now able to EXPLORE new recipes.....and loving it! I grew up with a German cuisine infuence and a large family. Casseroles were a staple at our house, as was cooking for a family of nine.
My favorite things to cook
New things, (e.g., non-German)!!! Sweet things, e.g., baked goods. I love to try things my family might try from the food channel.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas Eve-oyster stew, Christmas Day-Homemade soup and submarine sandwiches in addition to plenty of munchies and desserts for anyone who drops by the house. Easter Ham dinner with any/ all relatives and family. Half (1/2) Birthdays are a special occasion.
My cooking triumphs
Getting my wonderful Norweigian husband to try a few more vegetables and fruits. He was very limited in his vegetable exposure as a youth. I'm really craving a good eggplant recipe!
My cooking tragedies
Oh, Lord. A really AWFUL tomato based tuna casserole, among a few others natural disasters involving the broiler. I didn't even try using my broiler until 2 years ago.

Lemon Sugar Tea Cookies
I have been looking for a sugar cookie with an animal cracker flavor to it..... I had lost my recipe from Women's Day or Family Circle and it was printed around 12 years ago. THANK YOU TAMME, this recipe is so sensational!

Soft Sugar Cookies
Simply delicious and very easy!! I substituted lemon extract in place of the almond extract for a more "animal cracker" taste to the cookie. Really good!!

Super Sugar Cookies
My mother in law passed this recipe down to me. It is the Best!! The cookies are so nice and short. She added an additional 4 teaspoons of flour to the 4 cups asked for. Now I wonder if I really need those extra 4 tsps.?? ;) This recipe make a really nice Big Batch!!
