About this Cook
I'm 20 years old and I am also a college student. I love to cook and try new recipes, but I have to say I am the best at baking. I go crazy during the holidays baking for family and friends! I also am always looking for inexpensive yet healthy recipes to keep me going during the school year. I'm always interested in chatting about cooking.
My favorite things to cook
Tacos, fajitas, mashed potato, anything with sweet potatos, pasta, grilled chicken, steamed veggies, stir fry, cookies, cookies and more cookies, bread, muffins....
My favorite family cooking traditions
Rice, beans, chicken and fried plantians a traditional puerto rican recipe. Lots of baked goods during the holidays and turking and pork for holidays.
My cooking triumphs
I make a mean sweet potato pie!! :)
My cooking tragedies
I have never had anything go terribly wrong in the kitchen, just the usual I didn't add enough ingredients or I added too much, um I guess burnt cookies one time.

Buttermilk Cornbread Muffins
I did like these muffins, however they tasted more like cornbread than corn muffins becuase they did not have enough sweetness. I think that they would be really good with some jelly or honey drizzled on top to add some sweetness. I also used wheat flour instead so that it is more healthy. Overal, a keeper. I would make them again.

Chocolate Chip Muffins
I added 1 cup of milk as suggested, I accidently ommited the 1/2 cup of sugar, but the chocolate chips made the muffin sweet enough, so I will leave the sugar out the next time as well. I also used whole wheat flour instead of all purpose flour. I think that this was a great recipe, very moist and I will def make again!!

No Bake Chocolate Oat Bars
Quick, easy and it looks really impressive. However, the oats were too moist from the butter and they did not taste like they were cooked enough. The chocolate and peanut butter combo was really good, maybe I'll try it again and cook the oats more.
