I am a legal secretary, married for 12 years with a 3 year old daughter. My husband cooks for me most nights, but I enjoy baking desserts and making appetizers/party foods. I enjoy making crock pot meals - really nice to come home to a hot and ready dinner after putting in a full day at the office. My daughter and I just started a tradition of making and decorating sugar cookies at Christmas for our friends and to leave for Santa. I enjoyed it so much that I have bought cookie cutters for Valentine's Day so we can make them to take to her daycare. I'm keeping my eyes open for other cute cutters so we can make them for lots of other holidays as well. I recently made cornbread (Southern style, NOT sweet) and it turned out beautiful. My husband raved about it and said it was the best he has ever had in his whole life. (He was born and bred in the South so he's had LOTS of cornbread over the years) I have not been able to get over my failure with using phylo dough. I tried a recipe I had for a main dish using it and the thing turned out like paper!
