About this Cook
Love the outdoors. Enjoy spending time in the kitchen experimenting with a basic recipe and then turning it into my own.
My favorite things to cook
Soups, stews, chowders, lasgana, omlette's and multi-layer sandwiches.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking turkey, canning carrots and pickles, making Mom's pancakes, Grandma's Apple Pie, my own style of pumpkin pie (either real pumpkin or cheesecake w/graham wafer crust).
My cooking triumphs
Learning to make Turkey soup, Corn Chowder, stews, apple pie's and lasagna.
My cooking tragedies
Super-watery spaghetti sauce, burnt chowder, watery Shepard's Pie, turkey gravy with WAA-AY too much flour (actually, it was nothing but flour w/what appeared to be brown colouring.

Slow Cooker Spaghetti Chicken
My family asks for this at least 3 times a month. The only thing I changed in the recipe is the cheese. Instead of using processed cheese, I buy a bag of grated mixed cheese (choice depends on personal preferences) and add that instead. To me, improves the taste. Leftover's are always a hit as well. Highly recommend this to anyone that wants a fast and delicious meal.

Dash's Donair
Having eaten out East at many a donair restaraunt, I made this for my wife and neighbours (who come from the East Coast). First time I made it, became an instant hit. Reminded family and friends from back home and said that it tasted just like "home". I did not tweak the recipe or add any extra flair. Will definitely make more and take the suggestion to double, maybe even triple the recipe so that there is some to freeze.

Easy Pepper Steak
Made this tonight and has become an instant family favourite. A couple of changes I made was 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce (China Lily) and didn't have cornstarch so, used 2 Tbsp flour. End result I don't think was affected. I cooked my peppers in Olive Oil as well as fresh mushrooms and then once gravy/steak was ready to serve, put it all into the same pot. My daughter (4-yo) went back for seconds and she never goes back for seconds. Highly recommend this a try for anyone. Bon Apetite !!
