About this Cook
I am a happy married man to a wonderful wife ( who is also a very good cook)! Who keeps me on the strait and narrow! LOL. We haved lived in SC all our lives and love it.
My favorite things to cook
I love to experiment, any type of meat or veggie. I like to grill, slow cook on grill, smoke meat and fish and bake. My wife asks where is my recipe and when I point to my head she rolls her eyes and say oh yeah!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Family gatherings where I just love to BBQ and Grill. Every one together in peace and harmony (never happens) enjoying good food and talking about the good ole days. Holidays are always a big cooking day or weekend.
My cooking triumphs
Where I work we have bake off`s every year and I have managed to win a few frst places with cakes and pies.
My cooking tragedies
Deep frying a Turkey for a family gathering that was golden brown on the outside, but not so cooked on the inside, had to put it back into the grease. So NEVER rush when you are cooking!

Sandy's Chocolate Cake
Followed recipe, cake came out perfect. I did over cook a little next time I will do 30 minutes instead of 35. Cake was not as moist as I wanted, but I do believe that was from over baking. Icing was very rich, its was good to have enough to cover the cake plus. Next time I am going to change the chocolate to milk chocolate for icing, so it will loose some of the dark chocolate taste. Very good recipe thanks for sharing.

Healthy Banana Cookies
I followed the recipe almost. I took some others advice and used half oil and apple sauce. I also added cinnamon. They were different for sure. I did like the fact I was eating a healthy cookie. They were sweet and no sugar. Thanks for the recipe.

Fried Apple Pies
I like the apple mixture, though next time I will go with 1/2 cup of sugar. Need more work on my pie crust! Thanks for the recipe.
