About this Cook
I love to cook. I grew up in a big Italian family where most of our happy memories revolved around the kitchen table.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake and try new recipes. I am becoming a big fan of the slow cooker as well.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year before Christmas, my sister and I get together and bake mass amounts of Christmas cookies. We are unable to get together very often these days so spending an entire day or two alone together laughing and reminiscing just makes our holidays complete. Plus the cookies make a nice gift for those that you want to give a 'little something' to.
My cooking tragedies
I once got a recipe online for 'Texas Roadhouse' rolls. They are so unbelievably good at the restaurant I figured I'd make a batch to surprise my husband ~ we certainly got a surprise when I took them out of the oven looking beautiful to find out they were like rocks and tasted like they had come from under a rock as well. GROSS!! They went right into the trash! If anyone has a recipe for the real thing that they would like to share, I would love to have it!!

Pumpkin Whoopie Pies
You've got to try this recipe!! Moist & flavorful! However I did not use the cream filling suggested. Instead I made them with a cream cheese filling that was to die for! Can't keep them in the house, they were gobbled up as quickly as I made them!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread
Excellent recipe. I actually made a mistake with the ingredients and it still turned out very good. What I did was doubled the batch and doubled everything except for the butter. Very tasty and moist nonetheless. I will definitely be making this again!

SO good!! Definitely need to double the gravy part or it will come out too dry but definitely a keeper in my book! Can't wait to make it again!
