Easy Flat Iron Steak in Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
Wow. This was a HUGE hit in my house- my husband freaked out over it! We usually prepare flat iron steak with a yummy marinade and grill it. I've always been pleased, but my husband proclaimed this was THE best flat iron he's ever had! So easy, too. I also added some onion to the oil after removing the steaks and let them get a little tender before adding some marsala wine. I can't wait to try it with red wine! Oh, it was delish!

Stuffed Green Peppers I

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
Love this recipe, but it does need extra seasoning. I liked that it wasn't too much rice and I used ground chicken to cut down on calories. I added some seasoning to the meat mixture and the soup, I think it could've used more. But, it was great, easy comfort food.

Breakfast Loaf

I was looking for something quick and satisfying for lunch, since my hubby was working hard on the yard. It was perfect- he loved it! This is a great idea, I'd probably add some onions next time, but it was so tasty as is- thanks for the recipe!

Great Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2009
This was great and not too lemony, which I was afraid of! It did have a bit of a mediterranean taste to it, but I did make my own "italian dressing" : 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder 1 tablespoon onion powder 2 tablespoons oregano, ground or oregano leaves 1 tablespoon dried parsley 1 tablespoon granulated sugar 2 tablespoons salt or salt substitute 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon ground basil or basil leaves 1/4 teaspoon ground thyme or thyme leaves 1/2 teaspoon dried celery leaves or dried celery flakes I used most of this- no sugar or celery, and it was delicious. Oh, I used about 1/4 cup of fresh chopped flat leaf parsley- maybe that made it for us! Really good- it's a staple in our house now!

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

WOW. My husband and I were blown away by this recipe. This is probably the best recipe I have used off of this website!!! It marinaded some peppers and onions with the chicken and it just turned out incredible. Smelled wonderful, tasted wonderful, the meat was so tender. I can't gush enough about this recipe!

Teriyaki Pork

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
I was surprised this had a pretty good flavor as well- the marinade didn't taste so impressive. But, this was great and so easy! I ended up buying 2 14oz. bags of frozen asian veggies, but I didn't add as much cabbage- I was afraid it wouldn't all fit in my pan! But, I guess it would. Great, tasty, low carb recipe- I'll be making this a lot!

Easy Shake and Bake Chicken

Great, SO easy, and tasty! I used skinless chicken breasts and it turned out great. I also added some other spices to the flour mix- cayenne, onion & garlic powder. Next time I'll try adding some parmesan to the mix!

Guacamole Cilantro Lime Cheeseburger

the burgers were eh...definitely needed some more seasoning. The guacamole was good- I left out the chili powder and jalapeno, though. Luckily, all I could taste was the guacamole.

Pork Chops with Apples, Onions, and Sweet Potatoes

I actually didn't try this, but I made it for my husband when I was out one night and he said, "eh." Nothing to write home about, apparently. I was bummed because it sounded healthy. I think it needed more spices to it.

This is a great comfort food recipe! The hubs loves it and it's so easy! I did use corn tortillas and it can seem like a bunch of mush, but it sure taste good! I added a can of black beans to the mixture as well. So yummy- such a great go-to for something easy.

Slow Cooker Sausage with Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2009
This is pretty good for a simple slow cooker recipe. I think it does indeed depend on what sausage and sauce you use. I used turkey italian sausages and they were pretty good. I didn't brown them- I figured it wouldn't have much grease. I also added about 3/4 cup of water to the sauce and it was great. I put them on wheat buns and it was a more health conscious version of an Italian sandwich. My husband loved them, and I was able to stretch out the leftovers even more and used the rest of the sauce on top of pasta.

Chicken Wellington Casserole

I made a few modifications and my husband loved this!! I chopped up some white onion and the mushrooms and sauteed in olive oil. When they reduced, I added some white cooking wine. Then, I stirred that mixture into the cream cheese. I also ended up wrapping the dough around the chicken and cheese mixture. So yummy and easy- thanks!

Laurie's Tequila Marinade

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2009
I was afraid to use tequila, but this was great! I used about half a cup of all the liquids and it was plenty for 2, big round steaks. I just combined the liquids and added some cayenne pepper and garlic, marinaded for 4 hours and it gave the meat a great flavor!

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

This was pretty good, but next time I make it, I will add some seasoning. I added about 6-7 cloves of roasted garlic and I wish I added more. I love garlic, though, but it is good for you! I think some onion and maybe some cayenne pepper might be good, but I wanted to try the recipe as is first.

Easy Mexican Casserole

This is a staple in my house and it is well loved! It is beyond easy and pretty quick to make. I always make this with ground chicken or turkey, black beans, and I add sauteed onion and peppers and other seasoning like cumin and cayenne pepper to the browned meat. I don't know what I'd do without this recipe!

This was very tasty and very easy. My favorites! I actually used dijon mustard and thought it worked- you can't taste the mustard, it just cuts the sweetness of the preserves. Thanks for this recipe!
