About this Cook
I love being the person in my group who can cook anything. I also love being the go to person when anyone has questions about anything. I love to research projects that I find interesting.
My favorite things to cook
I creating new dishes from whatever I have on hand. I also love to plan events.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every time we all have time to get together, it turns into a cooking event. Some of our family favorites are chicken and dumplings, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti and meatballs, and chop suey.
My cooking triumphs
Being an excellent cook is what I do. I feel victorious every time I host a successful event whether it be a simple family gathering, or my daughter's upcoming wedding.
My cooking tragedies
When I first got married, I wanted to show off my grandmother's spaghetti and meatball recipe to my new husband. But, I came out with incredibly salty creation that was not fit to eat. I confused garlic salt with garlic powder. Garlic salt is not allowed in my home to this day.

Praline Strips
We really liked these. They are easy and fast. I used cinnamon grahams. They really gave it extra flavor. Will definitely make again when I am looking for something quick.

Herman Dinner Rolls
These rolls had a very good flavor, but I was not crazy about the texture. They were a little to heavy for my taste. When I buttered them, they became very doughy. Will not make again.

Amish Friendship Banana Nut Bread
I loved this bread. It was very moist and flavor full. I made it just as it was written, next time I think I will add just a little cinnamon to the batter. I will definitely use this recipe again when I have the starter. Thanks.
