About this Cook
Enjoy hosting and sharing good times and food with friends. Told my cooking is sooo good that they can't wait till the next invitation! I have even been told that I should open my own restaurant. Generally I do not like baking pies or bread from scratch, that is unless I can use the bread machine as I have a tough time with this. I have a tremendous amount of respect for "true" bakers (i.e. pastries, bread, desserts) as their is more of a true science then art and mistakes are not easily corrected!!
My favorite things to cook
It's all good so long as its fresh, if not, make soup!!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Roasts & homemade gravy..mmmmm.
My cooking triumphs
Always receive rave reviews when hosting a party. Roasting and grilling meats to perfection is a strong point....always asked at BBQs or dinner parties for help and/or how much time a thick piece of meat should be cooked for. Also asked to take over gravy detail at other friends/relative houses. Friends/Family specifically ask for me to bring potato salad to BBQs too, its the inclusion of finely chopped celery leaves that make the difference vs. other potato salad!!! Try it and you'll taste the difference too !!
My cooking tragedies
First time making homemade rolls, I put the mixing bowl inside a warm bowl of water so the dough could rise but didn't account for the water rising when I put the bowl in the water!!!!

Creamy Italian Dressing I
Excellent recipe. I also added a dollop of sour cream to give it a nice tangy flavor. Yum, yum!
