Lemon Cheese Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
Great recipe! I used a D.H. Butter recipe cake mix w/ a box of instant lemon pudding. I baked two 9-inch layers and cut them in half to equal 4 layers. I got rave reviews from everyone! I also left the zest out of the filling b/c the lemon juice was sufficient.

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2008
This soup has an excellent, yet unique flavor. My husband and I really enjoyed it, and I'm hoping it does the job:-) I did add a couple of cans of whole kernel corn, and I left out the bell peppers. I added a sprinkle or 2 of garlic powder and kicked it up with some Louisiana hot sauce to give it some heat! Great Recipe!

Chocolate Ganache

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
I love how smooth this ganache turned out! I used 12 oz of semi-sweet chocolate and increased the cream by 1/3. I used it glaze my chocolate petitfors, and it turned out beautifully!

Chocolate Fudge Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2008
This is a great recipe to have on hand when you don't have the time to bake from scratch. I used a devil's food cake mix, and substituted butter for the oil. Next time I'll use a butter recipe fudge cake mix b/c oil -based cake mixes taste a bit bland to me. I also used the chocolate ganache recipe from this site as a glaze. It turned out to be a very fudgey and rich chocolate cake, and is now a permanent fixture in my recipe book!

Chicken Enchiladas I

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2008
These were delicious and very filling! I eliminated the tomato sauce and water and used an 8oz bottle of taco sauce in the filling. I used mild enchilada sauce for the topping and doubled the cheese. Thanks for sharing!

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2008
These are the best oatmeal cookies I've ever had! The only thing I did differently was use butter flavored shortening instead of butter. They turned out perfectly! Thanks for sharing!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2008
These brownies were delicious! I'll never have to buy another box brownie mix again. I followed the recipe exactly, but I didn't make the frosting. They were so fudgey that it really wasn't necessary. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Mom's Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2008
Excellent recipe! The only thing I did differently was use evaporated milk, about 1 1/4 cup, and I mixed in some of grated cheese with the pasta in addition to sprinkling it on the top. I'll be making this on a regular basis. Thanks for sharing!

Strawberry Twinkie Dessert

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2007
Very delicious and so easy! I substituted a yellow cake mix for the twinkies and layered it in my trifle bowl! I made my strawberry glaze myself b/c I hate that gel-like stuff in the store. Good Recipe!

Flatlander Chili

This is the best chili I've ever had! The only thing I did differently was adjust the amount of tomato juice by more than half b/c I like a thicker chili. Great Recipe!

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2007
This recipe is a definite keeper! My family devoured it at my mom's birthday party, and I got nothing but rave reviews. I did, however, do a few things different. I used a 16oz cool whip in the chocolate filling and a 12oz to make the whipped topping layer. I also added a layer of hot fudge sundae topping with toasted pecans. I drizzled the top with more fudge and pecans for a perfect finish. It's very rich, but well worth the calories. Thanks for this recipe! Oh, I forgot to mention that I also doubled the amount of brownies since I making it for a large group!

Never Fail Meatloaf

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2007
This meatloaf was very tasty, but I did find the barbeque sauce a bit overpowering. It made the meat a bit too sweet in my opinion! Next time I'll probably leave the barbecue sauce out of the meat and just use it for the topping.
