About this Cook
Well, there's not really much to tell. I love going to social gatherings with family and friends. My first love is science! I earned my B.S. degree in Biology and I plan to have a career in reproductive medicine. My second love is baking and throwing together quick and easy desserts. I love social gatherings b/c then I have an excuse to bake until my heart's content! I like to bake for family and friends b/c it's just me and my husband at home and we rarely ever finish an entire confection between the two of us.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook include cheesecakes of any kind but mainly chocolate and strawberry, red velvet cakes, devils food cake, brownies, trifles, shortcakes, and many other desserts!
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumphs mainly include cheesecakes, brownies and layer cakes. Watching Emeril has truly taught me how to make a phenomenal cheesecake, but I learned most of what I know about baking from my grandmothers, my mom, and my aunt.
My cooking tragedies
My cooking tragedies mainly involve trying to make biscuits from scratch. They are often way too heavy and have no flavor. I also haven't mastered the art of making pie crusts or working with yeast. I guess I'll just stick with Pillsbury until I get better.

Lemon Cheese Cake
Great recipe! I used a D.H. Butter recipe cake mix w/ a box of instant lemon pudding. I baked two 9-inch layers and cut them in half to equal 4 layers. I got rave reviews from everyone! I also left the zest out of the filling b/c the lemon juice was sufficient.

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup
This soup has an excellent, yet unique flavor. My husband and I really enjoyed it, and I'm hoping it does the job:-) I did add a couple of cans of whole kernel corn, and I left out the bell peppers. I added a sprinkle or 2 of garlic powder and kicked it up with some Louisiana hot sauce to give it some heat! Great Recipe!

Chocolate Ganache
I love how smooth this ganache turned out! I used 12 oz of semi-sweet chocolate and increased the cream by 1/3. I used it glaze my chocolate petitfors, and it turned out beautifully!
