My family LOVED these muffins so much that they were gone immediately! I did have to double the topping recipe since the first batch only covered half the muffins, and I was using it sparingly. That is the only thing I would do differently as they were so yummy!!

I'm really in trouble now! These cookies didn't last long in my house and once they were gone we had such withdrawls that I had to make another batch! They are delicious! The perfect mix of flavor, chew, and texture. I used half butter and half butter shortening instead of just shortening and added a teaspoon cinnamon. I added walnuts with the chips the first time and added pecans and coconut with the chips the next time. Both were a big success! I never thought I would find a recipe that beat my mothers....but I did. Thank you!!
