About this Cook
I"m a 24 year resident of Michigan and a true Michigander even though I have southern roots. I love cooking and I look for new things to try all the time1
My favorite things to cook
I make a great twice cooked porkchops...Might even post the recipe who knows! Also I enjoy making simple comfort foods like cheesy southern potatoes and macaroni and cheese.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The cheesy southern potatoes for sure! Also lasagna which I would make but geez 2 days to make a lasagna! I get hungry fast!
My cooking triumphs
My twice cooked porkchops with onion, mushroom, and sour cream gravy. It's a recipe I learned from my mother and just added things to it just to see how it worked.
My cooking tragedies
When I tried to be all gourmet one day with some Cornish hen...poor birds...I used a recipe on here (unfortunately it didn't turn out good because of me). I spent a half an hour trying to shove lemon quarters up the birds which was hard because I didn't realize they were a teeny bit frozen in the middle so they were puckered tight! Then I had to let them cook longer because I realized they were frozen so it came out a tad dry. Next time I'll know better right?

Soft Oatmeal Cookies
Husband and I loved this recipe. I did a half batch and I did add raisins. Did exactly as directed. Great recipe

B and L's Strawberry Smoothie
Great recipe! I like this because you can slightly adjust depending on your taste. I prefer a thicker smoothie, so I just added a little extra yogurt. Most awesome recipe =)

Yummy Quiche
I am giving this 5 Star on taste, but a 4 star on proportion. You most definitely can't use a regular pie crust and fit all the ingredients in. But since that's all I had, I just changed the 8 servings to 6. I made this twice the first one for a potluck at work (gone within minutes) and the 2nd time at home for the family. The first time, I still had about a 1/2 cup or so of leftover mixture. But other than that, the flavor of it was wonderful. Thank you for a great recipe!
