About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy trying new recipes in my slow cooker. I also like to try new ways to cook vegatables. I enjoy eating healthy but I love cooking desserts too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love Thanksgiving when everyone brings a dish. We always have the favorites but then some new ones every year.
My cooking tragedies
One time I forgot to add the right amount of flour to the my cookie recipe and they were very flat.

Beef with Sweet Peppers
This is a tasty recipe. I did cook this in my crockpot and I also used a 7 bone chuck roast because it was on sale. So since I didn't pre-brown it in the skillet i did not use the oil or butter. This was great with mashed potatoes and I made a gravy from the juice left in my crock pot. My picky husband even likes this one. Thanks

Cinnamon Popcorn
I absolutely love cinnamon popcorn and my Mom used to always make it. I used 1/2 has much butter though and baked it for 20 minutes at 200 degrees. I also sprinkled just a little bit more cinnamon over it before it went in the oven. It is so YUMMY and we ate it all in one night. Popcorn is my favorite snack. Thanks for submitting this one.

Best Ever Pie Crust
This recipe was ok. For some reason my pie crust didn't need all the shortening. I probably only used 3/4 of it. I chilled everything including the forks and I let the dough chill in the fridge for about 6 hours. When I was rolling it the crust seemed a little too moist still and I did have some problems with it tearing and falling apart. It did taste great though and baked up very nice. Much nicer than I expected considering it kept breaking. I might try this again with even a little less water. It could have been because it is so humid here though. Thanks!
