About this Cook
25 yrs old. Casino dealer. Philosopher at heart. Love music and a good party. Trying to be healthy and love learning new healthy vegetarian dishes. Love trying new exotic foods and using food in new interesting combinations.
My favorite things to cook
Seafood, vegetarian and ethnic dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'm from Nova Scotia and my dad works for a fish company, so I'm comfortable with seafood. I love seafood. But that's all I've really inherited from my family insofar as cooking goes.
My cooking triumphs
Mastering my chickpea curry dish.
My cooking tragedies
Really burnt garlic bread comes to mind... poaching shark wasn't a great idea... but s'all a learning experience.

Chickpeas in Tomato Sauce With Feta and Wine
I was looking for a new chickpea recipe, and I really enjoyed this. It was good on basmati rice, but also really good on a soft baguette, and also to dip my pita chips in. A good excuse to enjoy a glass of wine. Easy and creative! Love it.

Pumpkin Turkey Chili
Four stars it gets for originality. Needs to be spiced up for flavor, but it's very hearty and an interesting variation of chilli. Festive. I made it for Halloween dinner. The turkey is a nice change from beef/soy beef, and the pumpkin makes for an interesting texture and color.

Avocado Pie
This pie really is amazing... I thought it was a cool idea, but I didn't really think it would taste as good as it does. Interesting texture and taste. I made it exactly as the recipe depicts, except used lime instead of lemon juice and a little less than half a cup. Will definitely make this again.
