The New Cook on the Block
About this Cook
I'm a fun, silly ball of energy with a big sweet tooth. I love baking deserts for all my loved ones (even though they complain i'm making them fat). I love learning new recipes and trying to make my own little twist on them.
My favorite things to cook
Love Love Love desserts! I will make a nice meal, but my heart is in sweets.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I adore my mom's homemade dressing. It is so wonderful and full of flavor. whenever she makes it, she knows she has to make enough for me , my sisters and their kids
My cooking triumphs
The first time I made a lemon meringue pie I was so proud of myself. It didn't look so pretty, but it was so delicious.
My cooking tragedies
I tried to make cream puffs once, they came out looking straight out of a pastry shop, but they were disgusting. The filling had no flavor and the pastry tasted like mushy scrambled eggs. I don't know were I went wrong, but I'm not sure when I'll ever make those again.

Baby Back Ribs
This was a good starter recipe for me. I did take a few suggestions to make it more my liking though. I first removed the membrane and rub the ribs down in about 2 tablespoons of vinegar than I rubbed them down with a rub consisting of brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, garlic, cumin, and some salt and pepper. i let them marinate in that for 8 hours. then I brush them with my favorite Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce, wrapped each piece individually in greased aluminum foil. I bake them for 2 hours at the time specified, basting them every once in a while. Then I slathered on some more sauce and put them directly under the broiler, meaty side up, for 10 minutes. they were so tender, fell right off the bone, and delicious. Best RECIPE ever.

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili
This chili was really good. I was expecting a little more from it, but my fiance and mom loved it. I will be keeping this recipe with me.

Swedish Meatballs I
This is a good recipe. I stuck with the original recipe and made no alterations to it. The meatballs could have used some seasoning. but all in all, a very quick and easy meal.
