Born and raised an Idahoan girl, I love the outdoors! I love horseback riding, backpacking, hiking, and I dearly love learning new things and traveling. As a college student, I refuse to eat "Ramen" or "Mac n' Cheese"! I am all about home-cooked meals, especially with vegetables from my own garden.
My favorite things to cook
Easy, cheap, and healthy meals. I love baking and discovering yummy vegetable recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother is an AMAZING! cook, so food is an important part of our traditions. Major holidays are sure to be accompanied by the delectable aromas of shrimp stir-fry, prime rib, or something equally tantalizing. My Mother and I enjoy experimenting and have devised some unique recipes including the legendary "corn-dog-corn" and others that must remain secret ;)
My cooking triumphs
I find a great sense of accomplishment in cooking something from nothing. As a college student I am often disappointed by desolate cupboards and a barren fridge. So, when a Roomie walks into the kitchen and says, "What are you cooking? That smells delicious!" My questionable carrot and onion concoction suddenly becomes a sweet success.
My cooking tragedies
well, a few of my efforts to be healthy and frugale have had less than desirable results and have caused the occasional "What was I thinking?!" moment. Recipes such as "scrambled egg salad" and "2old2use-leftover-chaos" can qualify as cooking tragedies.
