About this Cook
I am a wife and mother of 2 little girls, ages 8 and 1 1/2, and soon will be adding a little boy to the mix in April of 2008! My 8 year old is Rilee, and my 1 1/2 year old is Piper. We have not named the little guy yet! I work full time in an office, but am hoping to go back to school full time and finally get my degree soon.
My favorite things to cook
Mexican, and any kind of baked goods. I do not like to saute, but am getting better now that I have an electric wok! My husband is also a good cook. He prefers to cook healthy dishes, and I love the down home cookin'!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love my mother's ham and beans, giblet gravy at Thanksgiving, and beef stroganoff. My dad makes the best spaghetti and meatballs and homemade chili I have ever tasted. Every year my mom slow cooks BBQ meatballs for our Christmas dinner. No one will eat until she gets there with those!
My cooking triumphs
I rocked out chicken picatta the first time I made it. VERY YUMMY and super easy! I also make pretty decent chili, chicken noodle soup, cheese soup and tacos/burritos. I am looking forward to baking more.
My cooking tragedies
A lot. I just recently started following recipes. I spent many years doing the trial and error thing. Which is fine if you don't have kids, but I need to count on my cooking now. I also had to learn not to try something new the night you are having company. That's something I will pass on to my daughters so they don't make the same mistake!

Daria's Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff
This is the best stroganoff recipe I've tried yet. I had to stop myself from grabbing a third helping! I will definitely continue to make this, and I didn't change a thing about the recipe. it's perfect as is!

Best Chicken Ever
I don't know that I'd dub this the "best chicken EVER", but it was pretty tasty. The seasoned breading does detract from the fact that it's baked chicken. I found it best, though, when I made it a chicken sandwich.
