Edible Spiders

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
I made these tonight as a snack for my boyfriend and I because I just love attempting to be festive. They were very cute, and I made about 7 of them. I ended up using the rest of the chocolate for chocolate haystack spiders. The ones I made tasted alright, but I preferred the haystacks. However, they are adorable. Thanks!

Grilled Zucchini II

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
Really good! I cut my zucchini too thin (I've never grilled zucchini before) so it was quite soggy, but still very tasty. However, this is a very good recipe. What an easy side!

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
I think it's a good idea, but it didn't work out too well for me. Way too hearty, I suppose. I could only eat half a sandwich. Too messy also. Perhaps thawing chicken beforehand would get rid of some of the juice, but I think it would still be really messy. Wouldn't try again, but thank you. =)

Really yummy and moist. Super easy too. My boyfriend gobbled his first slice up.

Slow Cooker Mussaman Curry

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2009
Made this tonight, exactly per recipe, with sushi rice. It was alright although it mainly just made me crave a local Thai restaurant. It's not very spicy. I think it could be improved, but I probably won't make it again. If I were to make it again I'd cut back on the beef broth. The sauce was a bit thin.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Very yummy meal for unexpected company. It's very nice on a beautiful summer day (like today). Served it with chips for an easy dinner. I made it just as directed with Jack Daniels BBQ Sauce.

Italian Beef Hoagies

Reviewed: May 20, 2009
This is the first recipe I've ever made using a slow cooker. So wonderful. I cooked it as per the recipe, but I ended up letting it simmer for about 12 hours and it was so tender! The flavor was fantastic with the beef. Loved it a bunch. However, there are only two of us, so we'll be eating on this meat for a while. This won't be a problem.

Pork Tenderloin with Dijon Marsala Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2009
Really good recipe. My boyfriend loved it. I don't care much for pork, but I enjoyed the taste. It's a good recipe. I would definitely recommend it to those who like pork. I served it with brown rice and roasted potatoes. Thanks. =)

Chicken Scarpariello

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
Made this last night with brown rice and a salad. Not too bad. I just wish the sauce was thicker, instead of broth-like. I did add a little cream, but I still wasn't pleased with the sauce's consistency. I do recommend seasoning the flour before coating the chicken though.

Risotto with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Mozzarella

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2008
Ah, I made this a couple of weeks ago, so I can't remember exactly what my boyfriend and I thought of it. We liked it quite a bit, but I believe there ought to be less cheese. It's good, but not great. I prefer the simpler and more classic herb risotto.

Spicy Crab Pasta

Way too spicy as it is. My parents couldn't eat it. I didn't like the taste either. I'm sure I wouldn't like it even if I halved the red pepper flakes.

This is wonderful. I had a bit of trouble with the sauce. It seemed a bit too thick. So good though.

Cincinnati-Style Chili

Reviewed: May 3, 2008
I've never had this style of chili before. I really loved this. The flavor was quite surprising and delightful. I know the spaghetti is traditional for this kind of chili, but...I just don't like it over spaghetti. Later I had a second bowl with oyster crackers instead of spaghetti, and I preferred that much more. I would worry about cooking this for other people because it's not your normal chili. My dad liked it, but my mom couldn't stand it.

Garlic Cheese Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2008
Yeah, these are excellent. I added 1 tsp of garlic to the batter. I also added 1/2 tsp of parsley to the butter and garlic mixture. I used Bisquick for the baking mix. You can't go wrong with these. Real easy, delicious, and impressive.

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2008
Made this just as directed. It's pretty good. I feel kind of strange since I don't think it's as good as other reviewers think. They look really pretty though. Spooning all that ranch onto the chicken during preparation makes me a little nervous though. ^^;

Red Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2008
Mm, not bad. I made these without the sugar because of previous reviewers, and I used milk instead of cream. I think next time I'll add three total tsp of garlic, and one tsp of steak seasoning. They were a little bland for me tonight. I'll make them again though. ^^

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
I fixed this recipe tonight with twice baked potatoes and a chicken wrap, and it was EXCELLENT. I've never liked broccoli before, but I absolutely loved this recipe. I raved about it for a while, and my family really liked it too although they weren't quite as enthusiastic. It's so easy to make I think it'll be included in a lot of my dinners.

Italian Bread Bowls

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
I tried these today with soup. I baked them as directed, but I did add a bit of garlic to the egg wash and I only divided the dough into six pieces. They look really, really cute when you take them out of the oven. I had no trouble baking them. They didn't turn out flat or anything, and the crust was great. They're just too bland though. They're certainly not comparable to the Italian bread I've grown up with. They take a lot of time and planning, and I just don't think they're worth it. I might try to make bread bowls with a different bread recipe. I think guests would think they're adorable. ^^
