Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

From the looks of other reviews, this is either a 'love it' or 'hate it' recipe. Unfortunately, I fall into the hate it category. I don't know what I did wrong, but it must have been something! The only change I made was to cut the biscuits to 1 1/2 cans. I used the Walmart brand equivalent of Grands biscuits. They formed a huge lump in the top of the crockpot. I was unsure whether to stir or not, but eventually decided it was required. I wound up with a crockpot full of gooey, pasty substance. I soooooo wanted to like this recipe, as I have not had very good luck with dumplings in the past. Too bad this one is not a keeper. :-(

Very delicious! Like other reviewers, I chopped the apples first and followed the recipe otherwise. Nice crispy, flaky crust, done-but-not-mushy apples, nice spice. Over all very good!

Best Burger Ever

I cut the recipe in half as it was just for my husband and myself. It made three nice-size burgers. The flavor was OK, but I found the texture unappealing. It was more like a soggy meatloaf texture than a burger. It was raining when I made them. I cooked them indoor on the grill side of my griddle so the grease drained away nicely, but still bad texture. Think I'll pass on this recipe. Sorry. :-(

Easy Ground Beef Stroganoff

I made this recipe using cubed steak instead of the ground beef. I cut the steak into serving size pieces and browned in a skillet and sat aside. I then proceeded to cook the onions and other ingredients as directed then added the meat back to the skillet and simmered. I cooked less than the hour suggested - probably 35 to 40 minutes - just until the cubed steak was done. I served it over egg noodles. I thought the sauce/gravy was a bit thin. Less water would have been better. I used the leftovers the next day with rice. The sauce was a bit thicker the second day and was delicious. My husband loved it. This recipe is definitely a "keeper" for our family.

Super Short Ribs

Delicious recipe! Spicy, tangy, sweet all wrapped up in one. I think this would also be good with pork chops.
