I live in North Idaho with my husband and work as a high school teacher. I love the area and sense of adventure the Inland Northwest provides. We spend as much time outside as possible. Grill and saute foods are my favorite things to cook--meals that look extravagant but are simple to make. I like meals with one or two bizarre ingredients like a strange cheese or herb that make for good conversation. Fresh pasta and gnocchi (dad's side). Saute and vegetables (mom's side) Learned to can jalapeno jelly and blueberry marmalade this year! Canning is a great activity for single people or a couple: it's really fun and the final product won't parrish if you can't consume it in a day or two. Baking sweets and desserts is difficult for me. I over-mix pretty regularly.
