About this Cook
I am truly a southern girl at heart - born and raised in the south - now living in the southwest. It is so beautiful here in Arizona and I truly believe you can bloom where you're planted. I am a wife to a sweet and handsome hubby and proud mother of three precious children.
My cooking tragedies
My most recent tragedy was my Shrimp Creole. I wanted to taste it like I had eaten it as a child and my version tasted awful. Not one person in my family liked it. It was way too spicy and my husband usually loves almost everything I make - well, not this! It was so sad, because I hate to waste shrimp, but this meal just didn't turn out!

Tacos in Pasta Shells
This recipe was fair. I was out of taco sauce, so I made the recipe with salsa and I didn't care for it too much. Also, the recipe states to cook the sheels in boiling water for 8-10 minutes, my shells were pretty tough. So next time, I would cook them longer.

Spicy Shrimp Creole
A little too spicy for me, next time Iwould cut down on the cayenne pepper and hot sauce. I am from Louisiana and I enjoy spicy, but I was looking for a recipe that would compliment the shrimp. In this recipe, I felt, the shrimp was overpowered by the spice.

King Cake
I am from Louisiana and now live in the southwest. Today I was homesick for Mardi Gras and ecspecially King Cake. The "cake" part of this recipe was absolutely delicious. As for the glaze, next time I would like it to be a little more thick - it was really runny. I would maybe try less lemon juice or more powdered sugar. As a whole, I would use this recipe again, but try a different frosting for the top. Thanks for curing my homesickness today, Fat Tuesday!
