Dad and I
About this Cook
I'm a student, a mother, a daughter and the family cook. Lately I've been feeling experimental and my family has been my test subjects.
My favorite things to cook
Mashed potatoes, Soups, gumbo, cookies, cakes, pies, puerco pibil, chicken teryaki, anything I can put on the grill, chili, stews, quesadillas, anything involving meat.
My cooking triumphs
See my list of favorite things to cook. And the night I actually made ravioli and it tasted good. That was a miracle.
My cooking tragedies
My first attempt at ravioli, a sad night when my chili went terribly wrong, chicken strips and most things that require frying are my downfall. I think I just need to get a fry daddy.

Baked Potato Soup V
This is a great soup. I see that a lot of cooks complained about this being too thick and that they tried to remedy this with more milk. It's not the milk that makes it thick it's the roux (flour and butter mixture) reduce it and it'll be less thick.

Cream Cheese Frosting II
The previous reviews were right, this is not a super sugary overly sweet frosting but it is delicious and is something you won't find in a store!! I used this on cinnamon rolls and it tasted amazing! I reduced the amount of butter and only used on pack of cream cheese, upped the sugar and vanilla a bit and it came out wonderfully.
