I have baked since I was young. My love for cooking came from my mom. She was the best cook because no matter how bare the cupboards were she always found a way to fix something that was delicious. She still is the greatest. Her diet has had to change but she continues to invent new ways to bake delicious food. I am proud to pass on my love for cooking to my children and grandchildren. Baking is a family tradition in my family! I love to bake anything. Somedays I love a challenge and try a new recipe but other days I find comfort in baking my old trustworthy classic recipes. Thanksgiving pie baking is probably my favorite. Every year my children bring someone new to join in the event. The newcomers always are surprised at how much fun it is to bake a pie from scratch, rolling out the dough, mixing the ingredients, and topping the pie with the traditional turkey cut out. I follow it up with giving them the recipe, a pie pan, a turkey cookie cutter and invite them to return. It is so rewarding to see the smiles and hear the laughter. Yes this is my favorite.
