I love being outdoors and love, love running. I enjoy traveling and trying new foods that are authentic to the area I'm visiting. I'm also a self-proclaimed chocoholic :)
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake any and everything, especially if it has chocolate. I also like trying out new recipes and tweaking it to where I can kind of make it my own.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making massive amounts of Spritz cookies around Christmas time with my mom.
My cooking tragedies
My mom had fallen ill with the flu and it was my dad's birthday. Every year he requests a red velvet cake with seven minute frosting, so to help my mom out I offered to make it for him. Unfortunately, I was about 11 and had no real experience baking anything on my own. I didn't follow the recipe exactly thinking that it would be alright. The frosting was never thick enough and as a result the cake layers slid off of each other. It was a huge mess. My dad was nice about it, but the only one who was really brave enough to eat more than one piece was my older brother (he'll eat anything).
