Born again Christian, love going to church to worship. Love kids enjoy having them at my home. I like to read-inspirational books and mysteries. Have lost over 250 lbs. in 2 years mostly through gasteric bypass surgery. Still would like to lose a little more. My family is important to me and I love them very much. My great-niece (5 yrs old) and I put in a garden every spring and she works right along side of me all summer. She is a veggie lover, for now anyway. I love to make chili (use ground turkey and a little lean hamburger. Like to bake, try to make as lowfat and sugarfree as I can and still have flavor. Enjoy trying new recipes or re-working old ones to be diabetic and lowfat friendly. Cooking Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. My Mom made date nut bars for Christmas and they were the greatest. I make them but they are not as good as I remember her's being. Her dressing is another family tradition I learned from her and it sure doesn't last long at a meal. Making baked beans from scratch. Now those I can make taste like Mom'. Learning to cook with out adding more fats and sugars. The last time I made homemade pie dough it was a total mess. I have really bad hands and couldn't work the dough so now I use the shells you just unwrap. Tastes ok and eatable, my dough wasn't.
