I am a former health food store general manager (14 years) and now I am fortunate enough to be able to stay home and raise my daughter, born Aug.07.I adore my family and love to make yummy things to eat!

my mother never used canned sauces, or ready made frostings... everything was scratch.. I still stick to that method.

The green chille enchiladas that won me the best prize ever... my wonderful hubby!( sorry.. TOP secret!)
My cooking tragedies
Burnt rice!!! Had to toss the pan... and once I forgot I put water on to boil and the water steamed away and the pot MELTED! I have invested in much better cookware since then.... Oh and once when I was 7 I made my mom carrot-raisin salad....except with cheddar cheese! Ugh! A heart stopper!

Chicken Dijon
This is a keeper mainly for the sauce.. I spiced the ckn up but it needed more texture... maybe panko breading next time. My husband raved about the sauce and was eating it by spoonfuls! I added a bit of garlic and jane's mixed up salt to it... mmmm

President Ford's Braised Eye Round Steak
Very good, the sauce was thin though... adding a roux next time along with some mushrooms... now that will be good. Great flavor and made the house smell great... I cooked for 2hrs at a low simmer and served with green beans and potatoes.
