About this Cook
I have a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics from Cal Poly, Pomona. Probably one of the last home ec. degrees given : ) . My professional background is product development, test kitchens, sales and marketing. I am happily married to the most wonderful man in the world who loves almost anything I cook. We have four children between us, ages 10-17, so cooking is quite eclectic. I love to entertain, and use that time to experiment with new recipes!
My favorite things to cook
I truly enjoy baking more than cooking, but have had a lot of fun experimenting with different cooking techniques.

Easy Sausage Cheese Balls
This is how my mother always made them (I think with half the cheese, but that part isn't critical). The trick is that you have to use your hands to mix them, so all the Bisquick is absorbed by the sausage and cheese. They are supposed to be a very firm dough. If you use less Bisquick, they will flatten out and not be balls.

Calico Cheese Dip
I have made this dip for years, but like Jennifer, always use cilantro and chopped olives. Get the FINELY grated jack cheese, and don't use a multi-color blend. The fun part of this dip is that people can't usually figure out what is in it - especially the cheese. You can make this ahead of time by mixing together everything except the cheese, cover and chill for several hours, and then add the cheese in just before serving.
