I'm a wife and working mom. If I could,I would live on a farm and grow my own food. I know it would be such hard work, but how rewarding it would be!. I have a small garden next to my house where I grow tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, squash, peppers, all the usual. I think I'm a foodie. Theres a definite obsession there.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook everything.I really enjoy cooking for large groups, or just for my husband and daughter.I like to use local produce when I can.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving dinner almost every year. I make a great turkey. This year,'07, I made the biscuits by hand, which was a first.
My cooking triumphs
Thanksgiving '08 was spent at my my moms in Kentucky. I made the turkey gravy (with the giblets, finely diced), and it was without a doubt, the best gravy I have ever made, possibly even tasted. My mom was really surprised, I think.
My cooking tragedies
I tried to make a reuben chicken once when I was a newlywed. The recipe called for smothering the raw chicken with saurkraut and russian dressing before cooking. That was truly disgusting. I'm not sure what went wrong there.
